What a great place! Clean and delicious!

The service is very friendly, the owner walks around talking to customers and the food is fresh and prepared within view. The prices are relatively cheap as well!

We will definitely go back. The burgers looked top notch so that is on the radar for next visit.

Awesome diner food!  Had the breakfast special which was a cinnamon roll, so yummy, with eggs and bacon.  The owner was walking around checking on people, he was very nice!  Others at the table tried the biscuits and gravy and they said it was really good.  They were really busy but still had quick service. I would definitely go back to this local spot!

This ain't your mama's Waffle House...

I have to admit I love diners.   With that said I'm typically really easy on diners when I review them, because... they are diners. They're not out to provide a five-star experience or even provide you with exotic foods. So what separates diners is service and atmosphere. If you can add good food you now have an exceptional diner.

OK guys as always I'm setting expectations, it's a diner, the seating experience and atmosphere was much like a Waffle House, fairly limited seating, straightforward good simple food and a nice waitress.

However, what separated this place from Waffle House was there was the line waiting to be seated.  So just make your way back to where the bathroom doors are and wait your turn. ...no cuts...

This is not something that should count against Nick and J's  but actually for them. People are waiting to eat the food that means it's going to be good.

I had an omelette which was cooked perfectly. The pancakes were big fluffy and thick, so if you prefer your pancakes like crapes, it's probably not the place for you. The bacon was absolutely fantastic. Cooked to perfection crispy but Not overcooked. Scrambled eggs were a little wet which is the way I like them. They weren't dry at all.

The coffee is interesting, seems like breakfast places especially diners, you don't get much better coffee than the normal generic JFG variety. This place was no different and I never knock diners for their medium to weak coffee, because quite honestly they all do it. It's not Starbucks guys...it's a diner. Please have that expectation when you go to the place. The food was awesome the coffee was standard.

Our waitress Eva, was sweet and all of us, again separating there's a diner from others as the service was exemplary.

The only negative I can say is they're not open Sunday morning for breakfast, but you can't not up for that.

So if you're passing through Knoxville Tennessee up the  Pellissippi Parkway, and you looking for a breakfast place I highly recommend Nick and J's.

You can definitely taste and feel the family owned operation in the food! For the amount you pay at this establishment it really does not get any better.  the food and love and atmosphere is coming from a man who has started many restaurants in Knoxville and continues to teach others how to open them properly. I like a place that knows you by name and does not judge you when you walk through that door. Anytime of the day no matter where you are this is a place that is calling your name! It's definitely a local joint that used to be a huddle House you can tell by the exterior but now is a house of good ass food! Now go see what I'm talking about if you don't believe me
